Earth Without Art

Most, if not, all of you must have come across the famous quote "The Earth without Art is just Eh", while browsing through artsy content on social media sites like Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook. Well, the reason for the background is that Mahe Zehra, has actually included this quote as a coloring page in her adult coloring book called "The Book of Happiness". The fun part is that Craft Circus is actually hosting a coloring challenge where this is one of the designs that you can download for free, color, and submit as an entry.

So after a long stressful month, I finally had this weekend to myself, and decided to color the page using my awesome collection of Distress Stains!

So before I delve into what I have done here, let me show you the original page.
So you can see that I, did not just color the page but also added some details to it. My reasoning for transforming it the way I did was based on the fact that the Quote talks about ART, and not just color. For me adding artsy elements to it was an integral part of the process, so other than Distress Stains, I've used stencils, markers, and stamps.

The splatters on the original artwork, set the tone for the splattered colors blending into one another.

Coloring Butterflies

Earlier this month when the daily marker coloring contest was announced, I knew I just HAD to take part. From my collection of stamps, I pulled out the Tim Holtz Cling Mount Stamps - Flutter CMS294; which I love but for some reason have used the least, and decided to color these butterflies.

I started by stamping the butterflies with black archival ink, all over the white cardstock, and then colored the background using regular Tempo markers. Next, I colored the butterflies, in a combination of colors, using the same markers.

These will be transformed into cards... soon, I hope! =D

Sharing close ups below.

Ramadan 2018: Card Tutorial

With Ramadan only 23/24 days, I decided to make some fun vibrant, Ramadan Kareem cards for loved ones. I captured the entire process on video, to share with everyone, so that you too feel inspired to make some of your own.

In this video tutorial I have used stamps from Altenew, Kaisercraft and Prima Marketing Inc. Instead of using distress inks, I opted to use pigment inks, by Color Box, and black Archival Ink.

Have a wonderful day!

You are Incredible

This card is inspired by all the incredible people, those precious gems, who make life beautiful.

The front panel is actually a bookmark design, which I water colored some time back.

As you can see in the above picture, its actually a pretty long panel, and so I used half of it for this card. I created the base layer by stamping the edges to create the border, and the then stamped the sentiment on Kraft card.

Added some glossy accents to add dimension to the design.

And thats all folks!
